The State of Wyoming addresses environmental issues through the Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality.

Sheridan County is served by a field office in Sheridan, Wyoming. It is incumbent upon this agency to enforce state and federal (EPA) air and water standards in Sheridan County.

Permits are also handled by this agency.
